The basics#

Is this the official EDC app?

No. Listening Room is an independent fan project and isn’t affiliated with EDC or Insomniac. For tickets, festival hours, rules and the final schedule, use the official EDC Orlando site (opens in a new tab) or official app.

Do I need an account or to sign in?

No. There’s nothing to sign up for and no login. Open the link and browse.

Does it cost anything?

No. Listening Room is free, with no ads and no in-app purchases.

Do I have to install anything?

No. It runs in your web browser on phones, tablets and computers. To keep it one tap away on a phone, use your browser’s Share menu and choose Add to Home Screen.

Music#

Does music play inside Listening Room?

No. Tracks open on YouTube, or in the YouTube app if you have it, and play there under YouTube’s own terms. Some videos may be unavailable in some countries or on some devices.

Why doesn’t my favorite artist have a track?

A track only appears after a person has confirmed the exact recording, so coverage is still growing. Every act is listed either way. See who has tracks today.

How do I see only acts I can listen to?

Tap With tracks on the lineup. It works together with search and the day buttons. Show acts with tracks.

What does “Version may differ” mean?

It’s the right track by the right artist, but the YouTube video might be a different edit or length than the version you know. More on labels.

Is there a festival playlist?

An event-wide playlist on YouTube Music is planned but not available yet. It won’t appear until it has been checked to play for everyone, not just the person who made it. Until then, the Tracks tab says “Not available” instead of showing a link that doesn’t work. The plan is for songs to rotate so every artist gets a spin before anyone repeats.

Are those pictures of the artists?

No. They’re YouTube thumbnails from the exact videos that were reviewed. When there isn’t one, you’ll see the artist’s initials. About the artwork.

Schedule#

Are the set times right?

Most come from the organizer’s set-time posters and are marked “Poster time” on the lineup and “not yet cross-checked” on artist pages. They’re usually right, but always confirm with the official app before you head to a stage. How set times work.

Is the lineup in running order?

No. Acts are listed in the order the official sources list them for each day. Use the set times on each artist page for timing. Why.

What time zone are the times in?

Eastern Time, the festival’s local time in Orlando, wherever you’re browsing from.

Will it work at the festival?

It needs a data connection; there’s no offline mode. Festival signal can be patchy, so it’s best for listening ahead of time. Screenshot an artist page if you want their set time handy.

Privacy and help#

What do you collect about me?

Listening Room has no accounts, no sign-ups, no cookies of its own and no ad trackers. Track artwork loads from YouTube, and opening a track takes you to YouTube, where Google’s privacy policy applies. Full privacy details.

I spotted a mistake. What should I do?

Wrong track, missing act or an outdated day? Tell the person who shared Listening Room with you, and it’ll be checked and fixed.

Can I use it with a screen reader or keyboard?

Yes, that’s part of the design. Accessibility covers what’s supported and the known gaps.
